
Kofun leaves during this speech but is followed by patrons of a bar. Later, Kofun watches on as Lucien preaches about how the sighted are witchs and how the people should rise up. He quickly returns Wolffe to Sibeth and exits the room, pushing past Maghra. Kofun eventually goes to see Sibeth to hold his son, where he realises that his son is blind.

Kofun continues to be uncomfortable with being a father and again storms away from Haniwa when she mentions his son later on. After Haniwa calls on Kofun to be a better father, he storms out of the room. Kofun, along with Maghra, dispute if she saw a sighted person and also ponder if the sighted person wanted to be discovered. Kofun is unsure what to do about this.Īt dinner with Maghra and Haniwa, the group discuss Haniwa seeing a sighted person. He gives Kofun advice on being a father, namely that Wolffe’s mother is Queen Kane and thus needs a good father on Kofun. He goes outside to a bar, where he is met by Harlan. Later, Maghra offers for Kofun to hold his son, Wolffe, but Kofun declines, saying he is not the father. He watches his child being born from the sidelines, and walks out during this process. Kofun is coming to terms with being a father. Kofun is able to show off his newly-learned fighting sklls in the battle and helps secure victory for the Payan army. Despite protests from their father to leave the battlefield, Kofun and Haniwa decide to stay. With the pending battle with Trivantes, Kofun, along with Haniwa, insist on joining the battle, much to the dismay of Baba Voss and Maghra. This later leads to the news that the Queen is pregnant and Kofun struggles to deal with this. This causes the pair to lose their inhibitions and for Kofun to engage in intimacy with the Queen. Despite these warnings, Kofun and the Queen continued to meet, and they consume a drug called the Thornflower.

After this, Kofun goes horse riding with Queen Kane which makes Paris uncomfortable, telling Kofun to be careful around the Queen. Toad therefore decides to train Kofun while taking away his sight, and Kofun's skills improve. Toad eventually agrees to train Kofun but soon establishes that Kofun's sight is putting him at a disadvantage. He also sees the Queen, who divulges a secret to him. The next day, Kofun also catches up on list time with Baba Voss and Haniwa, where they discuss sight returning to the world. Kofun is then reunited with Baba Voss, Haniwa, and Paris and they all join Queen Kane for dinner. Later, Kofun wants to improve his fighting skills and goes to Toad for help with this. Kofun later has an argument with Maghra as to why she had not told him about her royal heritage all these years. During the wedding, Kofun leaves early to be alone finds himself with Queen Kane who tries to build a rapport with him. This is an uncertain period though, as Kofun is confused by her marriange to Lord Harlan and questions this. Kofun arrives in Pennsa and is reunited with his mother.

Toad stops this happening and they continue their advance to Pennsa. En route there, Toad's soldiers question bringing in Kofun alive as he is which and should be killed. Kofun leaves a message for Baba, Haniwa, and Paris and that he is on his way to Pennsa. While waiting, Kofun is picked up by the Witchfinders and taken on a journey to Pennsa, on the orders of Queen Kane. As Baba goes into Trivantes to rescue Haniwa, Koffun is instructed to stay behind for seven days until Baba returns. Kofun joins Baba Voss in attacking a Trivantian border patrol to steal armour and supplies. Raised within the Alkenny Tribe and forced to keep his sight a secret while growing up, Kofun’s appreciation for his community runs deep. While children, their parents realize Kofun and Haniwa have the ability to see. While she uses the books to create weapons such as her bow and arrow, Kofun is more measured in what he uses the knowledge in the books for and does not wish to abuse the knowledge they possess. Composed, careful yet intelligent son of Maghra, Kofun grows to be more cautious than his twin sister Haniwa.
